Position Title: Deputy Program Manager
Location: United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) – Miami, FL
Position Type: Full-time
Security Clearance Requirement: Minimum of Secret with ability to achieve TS/SCI if necessary
Certification Requirements:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
Years of Experience: 5-10 Years of Experience
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Organizes, directs, and manages contract operation support functions involving multiple, complex and inter-related project tasks
- Manages teams of contract support personnel at multiple locations
- Maintains and manages the client interface at the senior levels of the client organization
- Meets with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review task plans and deliverable items. Ensures conformance with program task schedules and costs
- Accomplishes objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; enforcing policies and procedures
- Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change
- Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- May serve as the Acting EITSSC Program Manager on occasions when the PM is unavailable
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Training, HR or related field
Preferred Skills:
- Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Proven working experience in project management in the information technology sector
- Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
- Excellent client-facing and internal communications skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
